Meet Michael
Michael Kirwan is a lawyer who believes Washington needs fewer career politicians and more leaders who have seen firsthand how the system really works—and how it too often leaves everyday people behind. After nearly four decades as a securities attorney, Michael has seen how the rules are written for big corporations, but don’t always work for small businesses, working families, or young people just starting out. That experience inspired him to step away from his law practice and run for Congress, determined to make government fairer, more transparent, and more accountable to the people it serves.
Raised in Jacksonville, Michael’s outlook was shaped by honest conversations with his father about integrity, fairness, and responsibility. Those lessons carried him from student government in high school to Duke University, Harvard Law School, and ultimately to leadership roles at major law firms and a technology start-up. Along the way, he learned that solving problems requires listening first, speaking honestly, and finding common ground.
“
Michael has my full endorsement because he’s a leader with a track record of solving problems, not just talking about them. His financial expertise and deep community roots prove he’s ready to tackle rising costs and bring real accountability to Washington. He’s the only candidate who has the skills, the integrity, and the commitment to give every family a fair shot.
– State Senator Tracie Davis

NATURAL LEADERSHIP
Michael’s vision for Northeast Florida is rooted in his extensive experience as a respected business leader and community advocate. As a partner at a national law firm, he has spent decades counseling major companies on complex financial issues, including corporate governance, mergers, and acquisitions. His professional background has given him an intimate understanding of how the economy works and how it can be fixed to benefit everyone, not just a few.
Michael’s career is a blueprint for the leadership he’ll bring to Congress. As a former chairman of the City of Jacksonville’s Ethics Commission, he has a proven record of fighting for accountability and transparency in government. Beyond his professional life, his deep community involvement shows he is a consensus builder dedicated to serving Northeast Florida. Michael is a leader with a track record of delivering results, not empty promises. His unique blend of private-sector experience and public service commitment makes him the best choice to fight for a fair shot for every family in Northeast Florida.

Michael Kirwan is running for Congress in Florida’s 4th District to fight for working families.
Friday night was @ScenicJacksonville’s retirement celebration for its outgoing Executive Director, Nancy Powell. It was a wonderful evening bringing together current and former board members to honor Nancy’s many contributions. Her leadership has had a lasting impact on Scenic Jacksonville and our community.

I’m heartbroken by the loss of Hilliard volunteer firefighter James “Kevin” Crews, who passed away while protecting his community from a brush fire. This is a painful reminder of the courage and sacrifice our firefighters make every single day. They put their lives on the line so the rest of us can be safe. My thoughts are with his family, his fellow firefighters, and the entire community. We honor his service and will never forget his sacrifice.

It was good to be back at Wayman Temple (@WaymanMinistries) with Rev. Mark Griffin (@mark.l.griffin.5) last weekend. Saturday was their ministry festival and Sunday featured the dynamic Rev. Nate Robinson (@nate.robinson.9) from Miami as the guest preacher. While there are dark days in Washington, weekends like these show the sun is still shining at Wayman Temple and other houses of worship in our district.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Meet & Greet in Middleburg. It was great to talk with some small business owners and other folks. As usual, attendees didn’t just talk about how federal government policies are impacting their own lives. They offered ideas that will help people they don’t even know. They understand that a fairer, more just nation is better for everyone.

Yet another outrageous act has come out of Washington this month. It isn't getting much attention. It's from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. They've decided to stop testing our nuclear power plants to see how they respond to acts of terrorism. What are they thinking?

"As U.S. Rep. Aaron Bean pursues a third term, the Fernandina Beach Republican may end up facing a Democrat in November who can actually raise money... Kirwan’s performance thus far suggests that if he can win the Primary, resources may be more evenly distributed than they were in Bean’s 2022 and 2024’s races against grassroots candidate LaShonda Holloway."
Folks, we need your support to keep this momentum and send Bean packing - https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mksocials
